A dealer’s tells can vary greatly between individuals; some will smile or smirk; while others might clench their fists or look away. Furthermore, taking note of how long a dealer takes to reveal his hole card could also serve as a tell.
Although blackjack rules can change at any time, all players should abide by some basic principles when playing this card game. These include avoiding side bets, keeping an eye out for dealer hole cards and forgoing insurance – simple strategies which could save a considerable amount over time by decreasing house edge by approximately 0.5 percentage points, which would represent significant savings over losing more than 10% in an hour to dealers!
